Day at the Zoo

Kevin and I took Emily to the Sacramento Zoo today, it was a perfect day to be outside. I think Emily liked it, we saw orangutans, birds, lions (or as Emily would put it, "Kitty"), flamingos, and she also played on the playground.
For dinner Emily decided she would try to use a cup and not a sippy cup, what a big girl. After finding her sitting in a puddle and having a wet diaper, I realized I think she needs some more work. But Im glad she is trying.

I think this is when Em realized she was sitting in a very wet diaper!

What a beautiful butterfly!

Happy St. Pattys Dday

Today Emily and I met some of our friends at Nugget for some coffee. We all dressed in green, it was fun. I took Emily to the library and we listened to Mother Goose, Emily enjoyed it but had a hard time sitting still. Later today we met Stacy and Sienna to jog and go to the park. We have had a great 3 days with the beautiful weather.
I took Em to her 15 month wellness appointment, last week. Em got 1 shot, she wasn't too happy but did okay! She was 32.5inches and 25.9 lbs, she grew 2 inches in the last 3 months, what a big girl!
Em is not just walking but running. Emily loves to be independent, and do what she wants to do. She is still talking so much, she says stinky, pooh pooh, hat, night night. When she hears a dog she will say, "doggy". She also thinks all birds are ducky's.
Em is getting her baby molars, the bottom left one cut last week, and her bottom right is about to cut any day. New foods Em likes are green beans, corn, eggs, pineapple, blueberries and lasagna. She likes to use spoons and forks, but she needs a lot more practice. Em enjoys finger foods so she can feed her self. Emily is growing into such a big girl. Its amazing to see how much she learns every day.

Today Emily and I went to visit Stephanie and Olivia in Vacaville for lunch. I invited Stacy and Sienna to come along with us. After lunch we went to The Nut Tree and played. Emily went on her first carousel and train ride. We had a great time! When we got back to West Sac, we stopped at the park. Emily loved running around on the grass, as you can see in the picture she doesn't always stay on her feet.

The Beach

We went to Santa Cruz last Sunday to visit Kelly and Jeff! While we were there we took Emily to the beach, she had so much fun! She loved the sand, she ran for about half a mile, screaming in excitment. We will have to go back and visit soon. Emilys first touch of the sand.
She liked the water touching her feet.

Almost 15 months

Emily will be 15 months in a little less then a week! Where is the time going? New milestones for her are running, going down the stairs alone, more words, and she can now get off the couch and bed by herself, she is becoming such a big girl, oh and she is getting a "personality," I cant imagine what she will be doing in the months to come.
Emily loves taking walks, go in her red wagon and just being outside, playing with her toys, reading her books and having us read to her, she likes to dance ( I got 1 short video of her dancing, Ill try to get more).
Her favorite things to eat are bananas, oranges, apples, peas, broccoli, peanut butter, cheese and pasta. She is trying to feed herself with her fork and spoon, she does okay at it.
Words Emily says are:
Da Da or Daddy
Banana
Hi and Bye Bye
Uh Oh (this ones cracks me up)
Ducky
Doggy
Kitty
Cookie
Cracker
Back pack
Thank you
Bubbles (sounds like bo bos)
Emily loves to drink out of my water bottles.
She wishes she was a baby and could fit into her friends car seat! Silly girl!

How Emily spends most of her time lately, with no pants on. I cant get her to sit still while I change her diaper or put clothes on her, haha!

January Update

I have not posted in a while it has been a busy month so far. Emily's great grandfather passed away on January 14th, we will all miss him very much. Mommy also had her annual holiday party with the girls, we had a great time! Kevin and I are working working working!

Emily is a busy girl, she is walking and talking and sometimes even tries to run. Emily says, da da, daddy, ducky, doggy, kitty, hi, thank you, bye bye and once in a while she will say ma ma. She can get off of the couch by herself and not head first, she also learned how to sit into her Dora chair.
Emily pretty much eats everything but doesn't eat much baby food. She likes sandwiches such as grilled cheese, turkey sandwich and Pb & j. She loves fruit and vegetables too, her favorite fruit is a mandarin orange. She likes to feed herself rather then us feed her, we will have to let her use a spoon soon, but I'm a little nervous since it will be a huge mess! :) She drinks whole milk and drinks only out of her sippy cups and does very well.

Emily loves to wear her shoes and try to put them on and then runs to the front door to go outside. This weekend Kevin and I took Emily to the park. She really likes the swing and we let her go down the slide alone she really liked it, she probably went down 10 times!
Emily has grown up so fast this last year and we look forward to more fun times with her.
Emily likes to pretend to eat her fake food, and she also likes to feed daddy! (you will see below)
