Its been a long time

Its been a very long time since I have posted anything so here it goes....

Emily is now 28 months (almost 2.5yrs) and we are pregnant again with number 2!! I am 16.5 weeks pregnant, we find out on Friday if its a boy or a girl. Cant wait! Emily is also very excited to be a big sister, she likes to touch my belly and say hi to the baby.

Emily is such a big girl, I can hardly believe some of the things she does. She loves to sing and dance and of course get into trouble :) She is really into her baby dolls right now, she takes them everywhere and is a very good mommy.

Emily's new phrase is "whats that," ( and uses it all the time) she says sentences well and is very good at telling us what she wants. She is starting to understand feelings such as scared, happy and sad. She is great at identifying her colors and shapes and is good at counting and identifying most letters.

Sometimes she gets confused like yesterday Kevin's mom asked Emily "Where are your socks" well Emily pointed to outside of her room, Pat was confused and asked again...Emily took Pat outside the room to the cat, Sox! hahah

I hope to post pictures this week, especially after my Dr appointment on Friday. We are very excited for the 2nd baby and still having a lot of fun with Emily.

Emily at 26 Months

It has been a few months since I have posted anything and Emily seems to have grown a lot in such a short time. So lets see, what has Emily not been doing...

She has been saying 3-4 word sentences, she copies anything we say "Emily do you want to go outside" and she says "Emmy go outside", anything we say she can say. She has completely mastered her colors, she is now working on her counting, she can count to 3, she is also working on her shapes she can recognize and say "circle, square, oval, rectangle, heart, she can say octagon and pentagon. She has a Dora book that has opposites that she can read to me, "open, close, stop, go, short, long."

She still loves for us to read to her and she is starting to enjoy reading to herself too. She likes to do everything herself, "Emmy do it" are her favorite words right now.

Emily is sleeping great in her toddler bed and stays in it all night. She eats well but has definitely been much more picky then she ever was. Her favorite food is fruit and cheese. We got season passes at the Sacramento Zoo and have already gone 2 times this year. Emily is a lot of fun to take to new places, this will be a fun year! She is really growing up, she is not a baby anymore!

Emily is 2!

Its official we have a toddler on our hands! To celebrate we had not one but two birthday parties...one for family and one for her friends.

I took Emily to her 2 year old wellness visit and she is doing great!
Height: 35 3/4inch (90th%)
Weight: 29.3 lbs (75-80th %)

Emily is now saying so much more, for the past 2 weeks she wakes up saying "its my birthday" and then will say"cake and presents" too. She knows how old she is, if you ask her she will yell "TWO" while holding up her two index fingers.
She is putting more words together like, "I did it, I do it, there it is, where did it go, Daddy where are you, Mommy/Daddy's turn, Mommy I want *blank*" She has no problem copying any word or words we say.

Emily enjoys playing with her baby dolls and doll house. She pretends to give them food and juice. It actually keeps her busy for a while. She loves to play with her computer, Mr Potato head and play dough. Emily also loves to play with her friends, especially Carly and Sienna.

She loves to eat but is becoming more picky and not as interested in trying new things. I told the Dr how she will eat breakfast then an hour later say "Mommy I want to eat" but she only gained 3 pounds in 6 months so the Dr isn't concerned.

Emily is still potty trained, we started at 22 months and she does great now, with an occasional accident but that's expected.
Something else exciting is that my mom is going to start watching Emily 1-2 days a week while I am at work! Kevin and I are very happy and fortunate that we can have my mom watch her.

Everyday with Emily is a fun but new adventure, she like to challenge us and enjoys "pressing our buttons." But we love it! :)
