Our Visit With the Whipples

We went and visited Leah, Lexi and Allie in Nevada City. We had a great time, her girls are getting so big. If you remember Allie and Emily were born on the same day! They were so cute together!

January Update

I have not posted in a while it has been a busy month so far. Emily's great grandfather passed away on January 14th, we will all miss him very much. Mommy also had her annual holiday party with the girls, we had a great time! Kevin and I are working working working!

Emily is a busy girl, she is walking and talking and sometimes even tries to run. Emily says, da da, daddy, ducky, doggy, kitty, hi, thank you, bye bye and once in a while she will say ma ma. She can get off of the couch by herself and not head first, she also learned how to sit into her Dora chair.

Emily pretty much eats everything but doesn't eat much baby food. She likes sandwiches such as grilled cheese, turkey sandwich and Pb & j. She loves fruit and vegetables too, her favorite fruit is a mandarin orange. She likes to feed herself rather then us feed her, we will have to let her use a spoon soon, but I'm a little nervous since it will be a huge mess! :) She drinks whole milk and drinks only out of her sippy cups and does very well.

Emily loves to wear her shoes and try to put them on and then runs to the front door to go outside. This weekend Kevin and I took Emily to the park. She really likes the swing and we let her go down the slide alone she really liked it, she probably went down 10 times!

Emily has grown up so fast this last year and we look forward to more fun times with her.

Walk, Walk, Walk

Emily is walking a lot these days, she tries to go fast and gets frustrated cause she isnt that good yet. But here is a video....

Christmas with the Spink's

We spent Christmas with the Spink Family. We had a great time, we took Em to see Santa which she didn't like very much (pics to come), Mommy had to sit with Em and Santa. Em got a lot more clothes and toys too. Thank you Santa!

Em Walking??

In November Emily has been taking a lot of steps, she now walks about 50% and crawls about 50%. Here is a video of Emily walking, she walks a little bit like she had too much to drink :)

Great Grandma & Great Grandpa Visit

We went and had lunch with G. Grandma & Grandpa, we had a great time. They had some singing stuffed animals that Em loved!

1 year check up

We went to Emilys 1 year well visit. She is doing great!

EMILYS 1 YEAR STATS

30 1/2 inches

22.75 lbs

Emily had to get 4 shots today and she was not happy, but she did get her 2nd H1N1, I am happy she is vaccinated. Emily does not like the Dr's office and cried most of the time, poor thing! But she loves Dr Ward and shows off all of her skills, by waving and clapping!
We are trying to transition Em to a sippy cup and get rid of her bottles, we also plan to stop formula completely and give whole milk only, she is not a baby anymore!
Emily talks a lot but "real" words she says da da, and bye bye as she waves. She loves to copy sounds that we make too.
Emily can point at things, wave and loves to clap. She loves to make all kinds of sounds with her mouth and hands, like bah bah bah. She has mastered picking up objects with her thumb and forefinger. She started to to roll a ball from herself to another person. She also takes several steps alone, but not walking yet.
More and more Emily develops her personality, it is so much fun; except when she is having a tantrum because she is not getting what she wants :). Emily continues to amaze us with everything she is learning and how fast she is growing. We look forward to seeing her develop into a big girl!

Happy 1st Birthday Emily

Today is Emilys first birthday! We had a wonderful time with our friends and family. Thank you to all of you who made it out today, we appreciate it. We weren't sure at the beginning of the week if we were going to have to cancel since she had a 102 fever for 3 days...but it was an ear infection and she is feeling much better now. Last weekend we did a birthday party with Emilys "birthday buddy" Allie, they had fun eating there cake together. It was great to see Leah, Lexi and Allie!

11 Months

Can you believe its almost been a year since Emily has come into our lives! She is becoming such a big girl. She is starting to eat a lot of solid foods, since she has 8 teeth, she cut her 8th tooth last week. She loves to eat grilled cheese, fresh fruit, cooked vegetables, and pasta. Emily is now using a fork, and enjoys to feed herself. I have started to give Em a sippy cup with a straw which she learned to use in one sitting. We are also switching her to whole cows milk, so exciting, no more formula!!
Emily loves to crawl everywhere, and hold onto furniture or her toys so she can walk. She has also become a little climber, she climbs onto everything, the couch, stairs and boxes, she even climbed into the bathtub while it was filling up with her clothes on. haha! She can stand alone for a short time but no steps yet. She loves to clap, wave and even give me a high five. Emily is also getting more hair, and it is still red and becoming curly.
We are looking forward to her 1 year birthday, and to see what adventures come next.

Halloween Weekend

Emily had a fun first Halloween. Yesterday Em got dressed up in her outfit and went to a few neighbors houses to trick or treat! She had a great time. Today Emily and I drove to visit Aunt Gabbi, Aunt Jodie and Colton and a few other friends. We had a BBQ, Em crawled around outside and has a scratched up bruised leg but she didn't stop! Emily was happy to see Colton, he is a future boyfriend, and sooo cute! Emily was so tired she fell asleep with in 5 minutes of leaving.

Happy Halloween!

We went to our first Halloween Party, it was so much fun! Emily was just crawling and playing everywhere. It was at Jessica's, Emily's daycare! Emily dressed up as a leaf fairy, and even won the costume contest! Grandma Grutman came too, she helped Emily decorate a pumpkin.

Emily has been trying to feed herself with a spoon, which is great but after this time she eats naked! What a mess!
